What is a REAL ESTATE AGENT ®
? A REAL ESTATE AGENT ® is a certified realty representative( sales representative or broker )who is also a member of the National Association of REALTORS ®, a private professional organization.
The Real Estate Board licenses property salespersons, brokers, and companies. The choice to sign up with any expert association is voluntary and unassociated to state licensure.
State law requires a license to practice property, but does not require any licensee be a REAL ESTATE AGENT ®.

The Board members do not work in the Board office. They enter the Board workplaces for Board conferences and hearings, but are not here on an everyday basis. What are the certifications for licensure by exam?
Salespersons should finish a 60-hour course (" Principles of Real Estate") and pass the State and National parts of the salesperson evaluation. Brokers should finish 180 hours of required broker-specific and broker-related courses, pass the State and National Portions of the broker assessment, and submit confirmation of experience (actively engaged as a sales representative for 36 out of the 48 months preceding application for licensure). What are the broker education requirements?
An overall of 180 classroom hours of Board-approved courses is needed. Proof of passing the course and a monitored final evaluation are required for course approval. You must finish at least three courses from the broker-specific courses listed below. Among the 3 need to be a 45-classroom hour real estate brokerage course.

Note: The maximum permitted credit for a single broker-specific course is 60 hours, and 45 hours for a single broker-related course. Any principles of property course taken to meet the sales representative education requirement is not acceptable to fulfill the broker education requirement.
