Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A guy was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the subject of a report to the general public Prosecution Service.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be unsafe.

"These kinds of items being offered, normally online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their security.

"You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
